A reel hot rod. A super-high retrieve rate reel, the Speedster S features a narrower spool, inboard mounted handle, and an outer diameter significantly larger than our highest performing reels. The narrow spool prevents line barreling, while the inboard handle and added circumference improve retrieve rate. Rev these features up with our classic Waterworks-Lamson styling and attention to detail—plus our time-tested, maintenance-free drag system—and you have what the name implies: a hot rod of a reel.

A great reel

My first purchase was the Litespeed. Light, soft brake and perfect combination with the Winston lllX 9 4wt, both manage to take the finest tipets to their limit when we are in full fight. Now I hope to receive the Speedmaster soon, it will be well received. Thank you for the work you do do these guys do with these reels.

Perfect for my Eurorods

I put Speedster S reels on my euro-rods. They are light, plenty of smooth drag, balance the rods just right, and look great to boot. They are perfect.

Big and beautiful

got the largest size in black for my salmon double handed rod. What a beast of a reel!! perfect weight for my 15 foot rod and balances it perfectly. Loads of line capacity and the perfect drag. The drag is superior on this Lamson and you can stop any salmon with the drag if you need to stop that runaway fish heading out of the pool. I ended up buying another 3 for my sons who decided to swap to lamson after getting the smaller trout versions as gifts. Awesome bit if kit.
