Do your job. Designed as a bullet proof workhorse for your stable of reels, with everything you need and nothing you don’t—turn off your smart phone, check your knots and get to work.

Designing Centerfire, we drew from the strongest and most reliable elements from over a quarter century of fly reel production.  The frame incorporates our proprietary—IPX8 waterproof rated—Cobalt drag system, burly Power Arm construction and load path reinforcement.  The spool maximizes capacity and line retrieval with plenty of porting to dry out after a big day.  Add a large fluted drag knob, oversized handle and hard anodize and you can be sure this reel will only clock out when you do.

Available in Citra and Eclipse.

The Centerfire and Centerfire HD reels feature a fully CNC machined frame and spool for durability and lasting finish.

Our reels are sized for the line wight marked on the reel and one size down. For example our 8 is appropriate for 7 and 8 weight fly lines.

Yes, spare spools are available and they work on both the standard and HD reels.

HD = heavy duty. These reels feature a full frame design that captures fly line and prevents thin running lines from slipping between the frame and spool. Important for Euro Nymphing and Spey methods. The also makes the reels incredibly durable.

These reels feature our proprietary cobalt drag which is IXP8 waterproof rated to ensure sand, salt and other debris stays out. These reels offer a wide range of drag with plenty of stopping power on the high end to slow down big fish.

The core of a fly reels performance is retrieve rate per ounce, a measure of how efficiently a reel picks up line relative to its weight. There’s no real downside to a higher retrieve rate beyond added mass, which we minimize through advanced design and precision machining. All of our reels qualify as large-arbor designs, with a few pushing the limits like our Hyperspeed reels. A large arbor refers to the reel’s overall diameter, as well as the diameter of the spool’s base where backing and fly line are stored. Increasing a reel’s arbor size delivers faster line pickup, more line retrieved with every revolution of the spool and provides a more consistent drag as line is taken out or wound in, since the diameter changes less dramatically.  Compared to traditional arbor reels, which lose diameter (and drag consistency) quickly as line is stripped off. Large-arbor reels also reduce line memory, resulting in fewer coils and smoother line handling.
