Got as a client rod and was very impressed with this set up
I fished my Liquid 5WT today for the first time and I was extremely pleased with performance of the rod and reel.
First and foremost, the ability to cast sink tip leader was flawless. The rod and reel paired well together. Secondly, the overall appearance is nothing short of flawless.
However, the fly line left a little to be desired but overall, I will fish the fly line until it absolutely wears out.
I would purchase the combo again if the need arises for another setup.

Great setup to get you on the water
I purchased 4 of the liquid packages to use for guiding. Pro: These rods cast well above the price range: the 5 is forgiving and perfect for light nymphs and dry flies. The 6 is a powerhouse, smooth and accurate for heavy flies. Clients really like these rods. Getting a Rod, Reel, Line, backing and leader at this price point with this type of feel is fantastic.
The CON: the 5 wt broke mid-shaft the first time out on a trip and the 6 wt broke on the 2nd trip it was fished. Neither incident seemed to be associated with handling that I would describe as unusual for a rod. Also the rods seem to come apart at the ferrels easily, so I find myself a few times a trip retrieving a piece of rod that separates .
Lamson has a great warranty program, but it does require returning the broken pieces, $50 and 2 weeks turn time, which is inconvenient as a guide. I love the Lamson reels, but it seems the rods have some issues in construction that need to be addressed.
I love this set up for all my client rods and reels. Just bought another one
