Think of your fly as a projectile, your line a powder charge, that Permit sliding by at 70 feet as a silhouette. Aim and fire.
Cobalt rods are built on a hyper-fast blank crafted to deliver blistering line speed and wind conquering loops, with enough flex in the tip and mid-section to allow you feel the action load but plenty of muscle down deep to pick up that 70 feet of line for a quick re-cast.
Based on our popular SS-Salt blanks with dialed hardware and proprietary Lockdown reel seat, Cobalt is our next evolution in saltwater performance.

The Cobalts are all 9' 4 piece rods.

Cobalt rods are perfect for a wide variety of saltwater species from bonefish and permit to tarpon and GT's. The smaller 6 and 7 weight rods also double as great streamer rods for trout and bass.

Our Lockdown Reel seats allow any reel to mount on machined aluminum rails, instead of on a round reel seat. This ensures your reel is mounted securely and cannot rock loose throughout the day.

Yes! These rods come with a sturdy Cordura rod case and dividers to keep sections safe during transport.

For the price point it's a spectacular rod

For the price point it's a spectacular rod. Nice cork,smooth stripping guides, and picks up line with ease. At least a half weight heavy line will do the rod justice. It lacks a little feel at distance, but for point and shoot applications it feels like a strong shooter. I'll be testing it out on Andros in two weeks for a more accurate review.

Impressed with the Cobalt fly rod

Impressed with the Cobalt fly rod. Lightweight, good balance, and loads easily. Punches above it's weight class compared to other rods at this price point.

A worthy mid-priced rod

These are good rods at a mid price and they are fast action. I have 7 and 8 wt. Sage and Loomis rods and this hangs in fine as the 9 wt I was missing. Thanks for putting the little mating dots on the rod sections that my Sage didn't bother to do. Though it's a fast action I can still feel the rod load matched to a 9 wt line and it shoots a good cast. I imagine the 8 wt cobalt would also be a great bonefish rod.

Fished with cobalt for about 3 hrs at this point . Accurate loads well and comfortable to fish will give more info with more time on the water
