The ultimate hybrid. A fusion between the free-form structures of a cast spool and the mechanical integrity of a CNC-machined case, Remix S is the ultimate hybrid. Machined from bar-stock aluminum, the case delivers maximum structural rigidity and durability all wrapped in a harder, brighter finish. The spool (compatible with Liquid S), is pressure-cast with pocket spar design and increased strength-to-weight ratio. Remix S improves on the legacy of the first-generation Remix with larger diameters, larger arbors, greater strength, and a larger, easy to grip drag knob. What does HD mean?

HD = heavy duty. These reels feature a full frame design that captures fly line and prevents thin running lines from slipping between the frame and spool. Important for Euro Nymphing and Spey methods. The also makes the reels incredibly durable.

What material are these reels made of?

Liquid S reels feature a fully cast construction that is machined to ensure tight tolerances and high-quality finish. Remix S reels upgrade to a CNC machined and anodized frame for increased durability and share the same cast spool as the Liquid S.

How are the Liquid S and Remix S reels sized?

Our reels are sized for one line weight up or down. For example, a -5+ is appropriate 4/5/6wt fly lines. If you are in between sizes staying with the smaller reel is usually a good guideline. If you would prefer to prioritize backing capacity or like a larger arbor, the larger size will work better.

Are the spools interchangeable?

Yes, spare spools are available and we also make a 3-Pack which includes 1 reel and 2 additional spools. The Liquid S and Remix S also share a spool meaning they are interchangeable as long as they are the same size.

Are these reels available for left and right hand retrieve?

All of our reels are shipped set up for left hand retrieve. They are easily converted to right hand retrieve without the use of tools.

Lamson Remix HD

I bought this reel at begining of 2023 fishing season, with the two extra spools. Great price, and functions well. I use it entirely in saltwater, mostly for northeast stripers. I do soak the reel after every use as I had a Konic that corroded after neglect, though it also still works. The drag works fine with enough resistance needed to land 10+ pound fish. What is most importatnt is the support Lamson provides to their customers, perfect. I own three Lamson reels , Liquid, Konic and this Remix, and I recommend them to anyone getting into the sport.

Great reel. Drag is simple. My only gripe is no reel pouch. I got a little drawstring baggy thingy but no pouch with Velcro lid. I’d knock off a half star for that but I’m rounding up to a 5. Lamson, just go the extra step and provide an actual reel pouch.

One tough reel

I made the mistake during my second outing with this reel of leaving it on top of my car alas I drove away. Man this thing took an 80km/h impact like nothing. The cage and spool are full intact and functional. I'm very impressed

The HD reels are bombproof!

I like it - drag is simple

Paird the Remix 9+ with a Spey rod (first set up - Amy at Deschutes Angler in Maupin, OR got me set up - shout out - they’re the best) and five casts in on some juicy water on the Deschutes - BAM! Nice steelhead. The drag is easy to change - I have a Euro Nymph reel from another company - i love it - but the drag is almost too complicated. That’s what I get for spending too much money on a line holder - but I still love it for trout. This Lamson looks good, sounds good and looks well made.

They are a really great shop, with a great staff to boot. Thats a heck of a way to start off your Spey journey!! SO stoked for you and glad to hear you are enjoying the reel.
