Cheating We'll come clean from the outset: Velocity is the freshwater version of our Cobalt action. We did this for an obvious reason: Our high-energy saltwater rods are certifiable handguns. Point and shoot, fast and furious, lifting power and laser loops.
Big flies on open water, blowing like hell? Yep. Send one out to a seam in the middle of a wide freestone and throw in a reach? Nailed it. Lift a meaty streamer with a Belgian backcast and hit the other side of the river? Done. 10 inch brookies in a beaver pond on 6X? Uh . . . not quite. But if speed is what you need . . .Lighter hardware, forgotten fighting butts, foofy finishes for us trout guys, things like that.
End of story.

A Rocket

I paired the 8wt with a Lamson Guru and a bass taper with an intermediate sink tip. The rod drives heavily weighted bugs like a rocket. I was both pleased and shocked at how easily I reached out while on still water. Next: carp!

The Velocity rods are happy to send even big/heavy patterns a long way! Great Carp stick too. Let us know how it goes.

OUTSTANDING ROD

Bought the 7WT Velocity Rod and paired it with the Three (3) Pack Liquid S Reel & Spool package. This set up was initially purchased as a backup for an Alaska Trip.

But, I got anxious and used the setup for some local Carp fishing and I thought the performance was absolutely flawless.

I had ZERO issues fishing the Velocity paired with Liquid S. I am certainly happy I made the purchase.

Velocity lives up to its name.
