I’ve been fishing this rod for a while now so I feel I can give an honest opinion. First time I held this rod and gave it the wiggle test in our local fly shop I knew this was something special. I could feel the energy of this rod as if it was alive. I went back the next day and bought it and I’m so glad I did. This rod definitely gives you an advantage with its lightness, quick recovery, snappiness and sensitivity like no other. I fish a full Mono rig and this 10’ 3wt can sling mono better than any rod I’ve fished / own. I have caught everything from 8”to 20+” and it handled them all. I have read previous reviews regarding its backbone and yes I agree to some point but this rod has an amazing flex pattern that can handle large big river trout. I fish the Truckee religiously and it’s not uncommon to hook into a big fish. I am extremely pleased with my decision to purchase this rod and I know you will too. I fish the 10’ 3wt with a Lamson Guru HD 5+ and it’s magic. Thank you Lamson for designing and building a superior product. Hope to see more size and length options in the future. Oh, I guess my only recommendation would be to have a bigger fighting but that you can lean into when fighting larger fish.

The Reel is a TERRIFIC DEAL. Fishes Great. Like the idea of the extra spools with different types of line. Bought Lamson Liquid and that was also great. Shipping was very fast.

I received a 5wt rod as a gift for graduation and took it out for the first time. However, the 5th cast on the rod, the #2 piece snapped clean in two. I was very disappointed and reached out to customer service to check out their warranty. I told them what had happened and within a few hours they asked me which piece of the rod broke and what my address was. Within 3 days of that email I had gotten the replacement piece in the mail and have now been using it for a few weeks with no issues and it works incredibly. Thank you Lamson!

I was impressed with this reel from the moment I took it out of the box. Even the box was elegant and cool. I purchased this for my new Scott GT 8’10” 4 wt, and it perfectly balances the rod. I find it a little unclear how to remove the spool, but it hasn’t been an issue so far. It is of high quality, and the color is perfect for my new rod. This is my first Lawson purchase, but I will surely be coming back for more!

The Liquid combo does not disappoint. I have a couple of the Liquid reels, and the Liquid S lived up to my expectations, but the rod and line are fabulous, and I would say they punch well above their weight. The only thing the rod needs are some index marks for assembly, and I will add them with a paint pen.

By far the best fly reel for under $200, sounds great and has an incredible drag system.

Enjoying the Lamson Remix 9+ chasing Redfish on the saltwater flats of north Florida. The Remix drag can handle most 35-inch and under redfish and the occasional flounder; although I prefer fighting the fish with palm action. The 9+ gives me room to switch spools from 8wt to 10wt during those seasons when pesky Jacks hammer my streamer.

For its cost, the Liquid S HD is an excellent reel exceeding in performance and workmanship. I enjoy it’s balance with 9’ & 10 ft rods that permits a full day on the water casting streamers.

Excellent reel! Perfect combo for changing lines. I have tried your big brother for #8 par Dorado fishing in the Parana River with very good performance.

I purchased an additional spool to go with my guru E series reel. Both the reel and the additional spool are great. The drag is easy to use and is very smooth. I matched it with a Maine company Euro nymphing 10 foot rod and the make a perfect pair!

Ditto what GB wrote in a previous review. I’m glad I looked at the Legacy items on sale! Very happy with all of my Lamson reels (10 out of the 14 reels I own). I also have two Lamson fly rods! The Guru and a Radius. Love them both!

Nice reel cover at a very affordable price. It does the job protecting the reel whether or not it’s on a rod.
