I had bought a Guru E reel to go with my new Diamondback 10'7" 3 wt Euro Nymphing rod- I more or less went down the Euro Nymphing Rabbit hole. The reel is everything they say it is, and since Diamondback says you can fish a floating line with it, I bought the extra spool and put a WF-3F SA fly line on it. I like to fish dry flies, and the rod is really good for that, too. And with the Sulpher hatch coming in a couple of weeks and on Memorial Day, I will be on the Beaverkill in NY, you can bet I am going to not only catch fish on nymphs but also on dry flies. I don't carry two rods when I fish like many do; that's the reason I bought the extra spool. I've been fishing with Lamson Reels for some time now, and having fished with a lot of reels, Lamson makes a very, very good product. If asked, I would say just buy it, you will like it.

I own many fly fishing products and love this Lamson Reel. It’s got great line pickup and stands up to harsh conditions - it’s my beach fishing go too. Definitely a fabulous product.

I purchased the Liquid Max based upon a recommendation to pair with buy new rod. I was surprised at how easily it allows me to swap out spools for switching between surface and subsurface fishing. My first outing and me into fish quickly so I was able to make use of the drag same day. I am very pleased with the purchase!

Works perfectly. I fish it on a private lake for bass. I cast a 425 grain 29 foot floating head and 10 foot floating tip, leader and tippet. I have the drag set to keep from over-running the reel and leave it there for fighting fish as well. I cast about 80 feet

Could not be happier with the redesigned reel. Both the new drag knob & full cage were exactly what I was interested in. The louder tones were an added pleasant surprise. This one many Lamson reels in that I own. All are an outstanding product.

Super nice and protective case for my new Lamson RXS 9+ BRK Reel

Made extremely well and professional grade

Straight out of the tube I was impressed. The rod is nicely finished with small details like dots for quick setup your rod nice and straight. The reel is a beast and as a lefty it is always appreciated when a company makes it easy to reverse the retrieval. Unfortunately I can't speak to its fish catching ability yet, but I have set the reel up with a SA 8wt Sonar full sink line and casted it in the backyard. It throws line as expected for a 8wt and I can't wait to take it on the Sac for stripers!

I have used Lamson reels for years and the Purist 2 legacy reel is perfect for lightweight fly fishing with a bamboo fly rod on small streams. I needed a spare spool and found the Purist 2 Legacy spool on the Lamson site - Excellent spool that fits the original frame perfectly. Highly recommended and fast service.

I paired my lightspeed with a 5wt RL Winston and it was unbelievable. The weight distribution was perfect. Landed 2 large brown trout in the Allegheny River. The drag works amazingly smooth and takes up line extremely fast. I would definitely recommend this reel to anyone who wants a superb American quality product. I give it a 12 out of 10!!!
